Eighth son of John Brock and Elizabeth de Lisle, born on the Island of Guernsey, October 6, 1769. After military service on the continent, he came to Canada in 1802, and was stationed at Quebec, Niagara, and York until the War of 1812. He was appointed president and administrator of Upper Canada, and was the soul of its defense.
